Our coastal practice is built on decades of experience before the Commission. Few development settings are as demanding as California's Coastal Zone, where projects must satisfy both local agencies and the California Coastal Commission. Our attorneys have appeared in more than 1,500 Commission hearings and served as lead counsel in multiple landmark coastal cases, including Landgate v. California Coastal Commission and Lechuza Villas West v. California Coastal Commission.

We handle the full life of a coastal project: strategy, coastal development permits, Coastal Commission review and appeals, CEQA compliance, enforcement, violations, and political and community strategy. Our clients represent a wide range of property owners and developers, throughout the Coastal Zone, with projects that include adaptive reuse, residential, hotel, mixed-use, and affordable housing developments. When approvals are challenged or coastal regulation goes too far, we defend our clients' entitlements and enforce their property rights.
